Anusha Fernando, the Artistic Director of Vancouver’s Shakti Dance, will offer an excerpt of her inspiring and delightful solo production, Krishna Plays – our first performance in the new Temple! Anusha’s production is choreographed to the poetry of the saint poet Surdas and expresses the colourful and playful exploits of Krishna.

Anusha’s work highlights the depth of Bharata Natyam’s traditional repertoire, as well as its interdisciplinary potential. By fusing words, music and movement, Anusha illuminates Indian dance as an expressive tool with universal application.

Cost: $20 Adults; $15 Seniors; Youth 17 and under free.
Children quietly seated are welcome.

Tickets in advance (info@yasodhara.org or 250-227-9224) or at the door.

On Sunday, August 6 from 10 am to noon, Anusha will also offer an introductory dance workshop on the Bharata Natyam style of Indian classical dance.
