Global Gesture Language Camp – POSTPONED UNTIL SPRING!

manyhandsheaded2

Notice to all:

The language camp scheduled for this week (August 4 to 7) is going to happen in the spring at Easter time.  We apologize to those who have registered for this week and hope you can join us in the spring.  We are still waiting to hear on a grant through the federal department of multi-culturalism, so this and a shortage of registrations has led to this decision.

Thanks for your support, thanks to Mainstreet for sending out this notice.

The East Shore Learning Hub with the East Shore Summer School are excited to announce Global Gesture Language Camp, a language immersion experience. French, Spanish and German speaking families and individuals are invited to summer camp this year at Crawford Bay School on the east shore of Kootenay Lake.

Children, grand parents, aunts, and friends are invited to join one of the language groups. Led by a facilitator, each group will explore the treasures of the East Shore; the artisans, historical sites, flora, fauna, and all in your own language. Activities will center around the Crawford Bay School where each language group will gather food, cook and serve the lunch meal for one day.

The Worldsign Communication Society will teach each language group to sign songs in their language, and lead activities. Global Gesture Language Camp Starts on Tuesday August 4th and runs all week 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a special wind-up celebration on the night of Friday August 7th with songs around the campfire.

Adults are $125, kids are $75. (includes lunch each day of the class).
