Laury McPherson has been awarded the position of Principal, School District #8, deployed to Crawford Bay Elementary Secondary School. The position is effective June 1, 2015.
Laury will be moving to our District with significant experience both as a teacher and administrator. She has been working and living with her family in a small community in Brunei for several years. Prior to working internationally, Laury worked in schools in British Columbia. Laury grew up in a very small community outside Williams Lake and loves rural living. She has been very key in promoting and developing opportunities for authentic learning projects, shared visioning, student engagement, individualized learning, mentoring programs, and working collaboratively with students, staff, and community in promoting student learning. Laury has also been instrumental in initiatives such as drama productions, Earth Week, Peace Week, service learning trips and opportunities, and in promoting student participation and action.

Dan Rude will continue as principal, and will be in the school every Monday and Thursday, until Laury takes over on June 1st
