A 14 year old Balfour youth is missing. Sheldon Hicks reportedly left home Wednesday with a note saying he was headed to Vancouver with a friend where a job was lined up.
Hicks looks older than 14, he stands 5-foot-8 and weighs 145 pounds with shaggy blonde hair and blue eyes. He may be wearing blue jeans, a black cap, black shoes and a backpack.
The youth reportedly took his mother’s vehicle without consent, but it’s since been found at the Safeway parking lot in Nelson. He has not been seen or heard from since Tuesday night.

TMTVNEWS.COM – (RCMP) UPDATE Feb 28, 2013 On February 20th 2013 Nelson RCMP reported a missing youth, 14 year old Sheldon HICKS, from the Nelson area. On February 27th just after 6:00 PM Nelson RCMP received a call from Sheldon’s mother that Sheldon had been located. Mrs. SNYDER received a tip earlier and followed up locating Sheldon just west of Nelson. Cst Dan MARKEVIC from the Integrated Road Safety Unit attended and spoke with Sheldon and his mother. Sheldon was reluctant to discuss where he had been, but said he was fine, and returned home with his mother. Nelson RCMP would like to thank everyone who put up posters, called in tips, and generated information on Sheldon’s whereabouts.
