Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics Available for Whole East Shore Population Later This Month

March 10, 2021: IHA has announced that they are offering mobile clinics for populations of 2500 residents or fewer to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. These clinics will take place at the Crawford Bay School on March 24, 27 and April 3. Anyone 18 years of age and older can book appointments at the two later dates and seniors 80+ and those who are medically vulnerable can book for the 24th. For further information, see the poster below.

NOTE: When calling (250.428.3873, ext 9) to book an appointment for the Covid vaccination, please leave a message and someone from the Creston Health Centre will call you back. As you can imagine, they are receiving a large number of calls today, so your patience is appreciated.

  1. We called to book and were given an appt for March 24th. Neither of us are over 80 and we asked if we should call back. We were assured no need to as they had space and booked us for 2 pm. They were provided with our dates of birth and health care numbers. We called again on March 22 to confirm and were assured our appt was in the system and not to worry. That night we saw news where people thought they had appt but showed up and they didn’t as the age group was incorrect. My husband phoned and was told we did NOT have a March 24 appt. now we cannot get our vaccines until April 10. We will call again next week to make sure we are still in the system. My 88 year old mother was in tears when we told her we now have to wait until May to visit after our vaccine and two week quarantine. The health care system is totally failing on getting those vaccines into arms. With variant viruses spreading, we are stressed to the limit. A huge FAIL for how BC Health is handling this.
